Initially, the customer had been unsure about getting the items refurbished as they were concerned how the parts would withstand our surface preparation process. However, thanks to our years of experience, we were able to prove the components would not be damaged during cleaning as we have completed many similar projects and knew the parts would be safe.
Our experience put the client at ease, and they sent over a set of parts for a trial run of the refurbishment service and to assess the performance of our release coatings with a view to having additional items of equipment refurbished in the future.
On arrival, the parts were put in our pyrolysis oven to break down the existing coating and remove any residues present on the substrate before shot blasting to provide a smooth surface for spray application.
Our PR235W HB 5 Coat System was selected for the job as the customer required excellent release properties along with a hard-wearing finish and chemical resistance.
The newly finished trial set of components was returned to the client, and they have since noted it was a great success with the refurbishment already reducing their labour and costs as the superior release properties resulted in less downtime on production. Due to the success of the trial, the customer has since sent additional equipment components for refurbishment.
