Paint Booth Challenges
A paint booth is where the cars, either new or used, get their dazzling look. The coatings of paint must be applied smoothly and thoroughly before a car is ready to roll on the roads.
Hence, given the scale at which cars are manufactured every day, it is but unavoidable that paint booths are often overworked. This results in general wear and tear and the accumulation of paint and debris on the walls of the booth.
Of course, every booth has extraction fans fitted, which do a good job of getting rid of the accumulated paint and debris, but the sheer volume of industrial paint applied to cars daily tires the fans out.
Thus, every 6 months, the fans must be removed from the booth and thoroughly cleaned to avoid clogging. Typically, this frequent removal and cleaning result in extended downtimes for the paint booths, resulting in slower manufacturing of cars and ultimately revenue loss.
And as you can see below our customer’s fans were in a sorry state of affairs when we received them.
How Non-Stick Coatings Helped
Our customer was looking for a better option that would help reduce the downtime of paint booths and they found their solution in our PR245 green non-stick coating.
But first, they had to be stripped back before we could give them a new lease of life…
With this coating, now the cleaning of the fans and the walls can be done in-situ. This means no more hassle of removing the fans to clean.
By eliminating the need to remove the fans and cleaning, the company can drastically reduce the downtime of their paint booths.
A larger number of cars can be painted and prepared for dispatch to dealers in no time to attract more customers. This process directly translates to increased revenue in the long run.
