For anyone in the industry, the uses for nonstick coatings are…quite frankly…endless.
Apart from the typical applications that spring to mind when Teflon is mentioned (such as keeping your cooking pans nice and clean), the general public are not aware of just how many forms this material comes in and often it touches their lives without them even knowing.
As a result, at Product Release, the types of industries we work with are as diverse as the projects we take on.
Sticking with that theme, In the last few weeks, we were commissioned for two such jobs that I wanted to share.
Firstly, Rubber Sleeves…
Now, because of the high volume machines have to sustain during their operational life, the mechanical parts are prone to damage and material fatigue.
One solution to greatly reduce this wear and tear is to install rubber sleeves on these crucial elements.
As well as the already mentioned reduction of possible material fatigue; the sleeve also reduces the transmission of noise and vibrations as well as protecting against dust, dirt, and moisture that could cause havoc to production.
Because of course, if production slows then revenue for the business drops as well.
(Which is no good for anyone)
The above image is of a ‘long core’ which is used in the production of the rubber sleeves. This one, in particular, is recoated with PR245 coating which was been chosen for its excellent release and wear properties.
The Next Recent Project Was Required For A Highly Specific Industry…
During the production of products for the photography industry, there is a need for a wide range of chemicals, these will build up over time if left unattended. Previously, the solution would have been to stop production and remove this build-up manually.
This, however, meant production would have to stop. Which, of course, would affect the number of products being produced and the efficiency of the production line.
Since the introduction of non-stick coating though, this problem has largely been made a thing of the past.
As you can see on the right, the internal surface has been treated with a non-stick coating.
This will stop the chemicals bonding and accumulating to the point where production is slowed down less frequently, and in turn, keeping the machines running at maximum capacity for longer.
As mentioned at the start, these two recent jobs are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our daily workload globally.
That being said…
At Product Release, we are extremely proud of our work, no matter how big or small, and we know we’re making a difference to the efficiency of production of every client we work with.
If you would like to know more about how Product Release could help your industry, please don’t hesitate to contact one of our experts, who can discuss your problem and recommend an innovative solution that will not only help you now but will minimise future damage or repairs, giving you peace of mind.
