If the last few weeks have taught us anything it’s that, in a crisis, the countries of the world all react in very different ways.
Now, I’m not here to judge who’s right or who’s wrong but I’m sure we’ll all agree that there have been some BIG lessons learned for the future.
Instead of concentrating on the negatives though, let’s look at the positives that have come out of the COVID -19 Pandemic.
Globally, there has been a noticeable change in people’s behaviour for the greater good, whether that be
- Reconnecting with old friends you may have lost contact with
- Starting or picking up old hobbies and pastimes that may have been forgotten about
- Even having more time to spend with your children and loved ones
Why These Changes?
Nearly all these changes can be put down to following government advice that we should be staying indoors, working from home, and avoiding travel any great distances.
The simple changes we have made to how we live our life on a daily basis have had a pretty remarkable effect on a certain aspect of our lives that we, sometimes, don’t pay enough notice to:
I’m sure some of you have seen the amazing images online.
With the lack of air travel, far fewer cars on the road, some factories, and production sites grinding to a halt and a reduction of foot traffic there have been instances where the changes have been frankly, unbelievable.
Take Venice for example, whose residents now not only see the bottom of the famous canals due to the crystal clear waters, but they are also seeing an influx of fish with some locals stating that an occurrence like this has never been seen in their lifetime.
Similarly, India has seen a dramatic drop in air pollution.
Being one of the most overpopulated and polluted countries in the world, having the country be put into complete lockdown has had an amazing effect on the pollution levels…..these comparison images were taken just 4 months apart.
Due to recent developments here in the UK, we are now being advised to begin a ‘phased return’ to work and people are beginning to commute again, however, the advice to avoid public transport is still as relevant now as it was at the beginning of lockdown.
Hoping to do our bit by keeping people safe Product Release has now introduced a ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme for our employees.
As the health and well being of our employees is important to us, this scheme allows us to assist them in improving their fitness, and it has been proven that regular exercise reduces stress…..which is a win/win for everybody especially in this global crisis.
Along with that, we pride ourselves as a company, on keeping environmental damage to a minimum, and although the new scheme is just a drop in the ocean, every little helps.
If you would like to know more about how Product Release could help your industry, please don’t hesitate to contact one of our experts, who can discuss your problem and recommend an innovative solution that will not only help you now but will minimise future damage or repairs, giving you peace of mind.
