Keeping corrosion at bay…

When approached by a client with a job that required high levels of protection and a quick turnaround, we speedily found the ideal solution.  

The customer, who provides precision engineering and manufacturing services, needed the profile of a patch mould protecting with a wear resistant coating. The profiles would be subjected to a sea salt environment so it was important that the coating could withstand continuous wear as a breakdown in the protection could lead to corrosion of the internals that fit within the profiles.  

In order to prepare the moulds for coating application, the surface was degreased and grit blasted before the threads and sidewalls were masked off.  

With the item ready for spraying, we applied our PR175 2 Coat System as it provides excellent wear resistance.  

As the client required a swift return of the item, a lead time was planned in by both parties. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond for our customers and our dedicated team managed to complete the job early to exceed the customers’ expectations.
