When approached by a customer to complete a refurbishment project for a leading global food preparation company, we knew we could rise to the challenge and meet the quick turnaround schedule required.  

The company manufacture prepared meals and foods such as soups, dips, salads, pizzas, breads and desserts for a global client base including the UK, US and China.   

The project consisted of cleaning and recoating their two conical hoppers used for the moulding and shaping of dough. The existing coating on the hoppers had deteriorated and was causing issues with potential food contamination risk and poor release properties.  

We began by removing the existing coating through our pyrolysis oven process, this also breaks down any food residues present on the substrate, before shot blasting ready for coating.  

Due to the enhanced level of non-stick required, our PR235HB Sparkle Release Coat System was selected and applied by spray. This system provides the long term non-stick properties required by the client so was the ideal solution.  

The refurbishment of the hoppers was completed in just one and a half days, achieving the rapid turnaround time specified by the customer.
