Easy as pie…

When approached by a new customer who was having trouble with their pie moulds, we set to work finding the ideal non-stick coating solution.  

The moulds that are used to form the pie’s shape were causing the pastry to stick to them, this resulted in many of the pies being wasted, increased cleaning time of the moulds and loss of profit for the client. We needed to provide a suitable release coating to resolve all three issues.  

We began our refurbishment process by removing the existing coating and carbon residues in our pyrolysis oven. The surface was then shot blasted in preparation of coating application. 

Based on the challenges of the problem, we applied our PR175 Two Coat Release Coating System by spray application. This coating system provides excellent release properties so would eliminate the sticking issue for the customer.  

Once the pie moulds were back in action it was clear that we had resolved the sticking problem altogether, dramatically reducing the production wastage. 

We were overjoyed to receive such positive feedback and to hear that the moulds were working better than ever.
