When approached by a leading UK independent bakery in the North West, who had a consistency and wastage problem, we looked to provide a solution!

The bakery needed us to refurbish their dough sheet cutter as it was not performing to standard, resulting in batch consistency problems, delays on production as well as wasted product that was sticking to the rotating cutter. Due to our experience working with the bakery industry, we had seen similar issues before and knew we could resolve the problem.

The cutter was first put through our pyrolysis oven to breakdown any remaining coating and remove the dough residues left from the client’s production process. The cutter was then shot blasted and sprayed with our PR620S Three Coat Fluoropolymer system.

This coating was selected as it provides superb non-stick properties as well as excellent wear resistance so would be able to withstand the continuous usage of the cutter on production.

Once the refurbishment work was complete, the cutter was returned to the customer who remarked on the significant improvement of production efficiency as well as a reduction in wastage and greater batch to batch consistency.
