Having worked within the coatings industry for over 30 years, our team have been faced with numerous questions relating to our processes and the coatings used for different applications. While many of the queries raised are concerning the specific circumstances of the prospective work, there are a number of more general questions that have cropped up more than others, so we’ve collected them together below.
Is it possible to apply coatings on-site or supply them for self application?
Unfortunately, due to the high temperatures that the large majority of coatings need to be applied at, it isn’t usually possible for them to be applied at a customer’s premises. Most of our coatings require temperatures of 400°C to achieve the right finish, so we are only able to carry out this work at our facilities in the UK, Denmark, Turkey and China.
Similarly, due to the conditions required for the application, we are also unable to supply any coatings that customers can use themselves.
What is the minimum/maximum number of items you can coat?
The quantity of items we work with is largely dependent on the size of them. For large items such as a hopper or roller, we can work on a singular item basis. For smaller items such as crumpet rings and bread pans, we would usually look at a larger batch run and can accommodate up to 5,000 items in these cases. For more specific details, feel free to get in touch for more information.
How long does it take to coat my equipment and how does it get to you?
Again, when it comes to the timescales, this is also tied in with the size of the items being worked on. For singular items we are able to complete the work within 2-3 days, though this can also be expedited to around 36 hours for items that are of vital importance to the running of your business. When we work on larger batches the timescales will then stretch out to 2-3 weeks depending on the quantities, though we would again advise you to get in touch to discuss your needs with this.
Once a piece of work is agreed, we will arrange collection and delivery with a local haulage company to ensure that your items are collected safely and quickly.
How do I know what coating I need?
We utilise our vast experience across a number of different industries, as well as the information you provide us relating to the specific needs of your request, to select a coating that fits in with your requirements.
